US Youth Soccer Region IV

PURPOSE

The Shrine Soccer program was initiated to provide ongoing financial support to grassroots, young recreational soccer teams, through sponsorship by Shrine Temples and Clubs in their community.

PHILOSOPHY

To promote soccer at the grassroots level as a sport in which all children can participate, and from which many benefits may be derived.

DESCRIPTION

Each Shrine Temple and Club has been encouraged by their leadership to participate in this program and sponsor as many teams as they can. The temples and clubs are asked to outfit the team(s), exclusive of their shoes.

The sponsorship does not require Shriners to act as coaches or other game officials, to maintain fields or any other activities.

State Associations and local leagues should contact the Shrine temples or clubs in their community, and arrange for sponsorship of area teams. State associations and local leagues should work together with the Shriners to come up with the best plan of sponsorship for their area. Team sponsorships may vary across the country as will details such as team colors, placement of the Shrine logo and funding amounts.

ELIGIBILITY

Any youth soccer team affiliated with U S YOUTH SOCCER, in the Under 1 0, Under 8 and Under 6 age groups.
