Now 18, Zachary Pendt has been officiating in
Washington for 7 years. Needless to say, he enjoys it. Starting
out on small-sided youth games, Zachary, now a Grade 7 Referee has
grown skilled and comfortable with matches that offer much greater
challenges.
In addition to Premier League youth games, he
also works PSSL matches. Notably, he appeared on matches at the
2007 Far West Regionals in Las Vegas. Zack is also well known as a
soccer player. He currently plays on a U-18 Premier team, and plays
for his high school team, where he maintains a 3.3 grade average.
Over and above his outstanding qualifications
in soccer, Zach is recognized as a leader in all of his activities
including his high school and his community. Zach helps with the
Food Bank, the YWCA, and the Starlight Foundation when he isn’t busy
with soccer or school.
Zachary Pendt embodies all the qualities that makes Region IV
proud to recognize him as our Young Male Referee for 2008. |
Nearing the completion of her upgrade to
Grade 8, Maia has a wealth of officiating experience under her
belt. Over and above all the games she has covered in Alaska,
Maia has worked Far West Regional matches at both Boise and Las
Vegas. As a freshman in the pre-med curriculum at Harvard, Maia
has had little time to officiate in Massachusetts. Maintaining a
3.6 GPA at Harvard will demand a lot of your free time. But she
has been in contact with the Cambridge assignor and plans to be
working games there next fall.
In addition to her soccer accomplishments,
Maia has been highly successful on her high school debate team,
garnering national acclaim in the “We The People” event. She also
played soccer, and ran track and cross country for her high
school. She has been active in numerous community service
functions, and continues to seek ways to help people.

proud to recognize her as our 2008 Young Female Referee of the
